Half term information Spring 2 2025

We stepped into the shoes of Ernest Shackleton following the treacherous journey he endured with his crew in Antarctica. The children wrote letters of application. After learning the events of the expedition, they wrote diary entries about what the crew did during the months their ship was stuck. The children were amazed by the actions of Shackleton and his crew. To complete the unit, the children wrote an innovated version of events in the form of their own story.

Mathematically, we have been perfecting our percentages, diving into decimals and marvelling at measures for both area and perimeter.

One of the highlights of the half term for the children was the afternoon spent creating their own energy bars, including packaging with nutritional information.

In PE the children really enjoyed orienteering and playing a range of games Shackleton and his men may have played on the ice to keep morale high.
