Half term information Autumn 1 2024

The children have fully immersed themselves in the learning this past term and have really engaged in the topic: Stone Age to Iron Age.  We experienced the Stone Age period with a trip to Litte Wandlebury, where we learnt about the Stone age history- including how to make wheat and bread on a hot fire. We wrote a variety of letters about our discoveries through the text, Stone Age Boy. The children have written their own version of this story and have also mastered how to write a good set of instructions on how to make all the interesting things made during the Stone age. In science they enjoyed testing and exploring different types of rocks and they had all hands in and made their own fossils.  The new maths focus on mastery and using power maths challenged lots of us; especially as we had to think about partitioning numbers in a variety of different ways. In other areas, we completed a unit on life in prehistoric eras while improving our gymnastics skills in PE.
